Portage Fire Department has instructors in all specialties of firefighting and Emergency Medical Services. We provide training for all of our members and the surrounding community. We provide on duty training to crews to maintain continuing education. Our firefighters also seek outside education throughout the year locally as well as nationally. Portage fire also dedicates time to the local career fire academy involving 10 different departments in the region. Instructors are paid overtime for their time teaching and earn points for a $500 instructor pay stipend.
